Bearspaw Edmonton is centered on a recreational site that includes Bearspaw Lake and a permanent stormwater retention pond, located within the southern portion of Kaskitayo.  Bearspaw is situated between South Edmonton Common and close to the Century Park LRT, named in honor of Chief Masgwaahisd of the Stoney Band, who signed Band Treaty Number 7 in 1877.
