Beverly Heights is a mature community in the north-east portion of Edmonton, originally part of the Town of Beverly, named from the Town of Beverly in Yorkshire England. Beginning as a small mining community, increasing the population when rich coal seams that lay beneath the soil were discovered and coal mining began, and in 1882 the village was incorporated as a town in 1914 and was amalgamated in 1961. Real estate development in Beverly Heights range in age from as early as 1910 to new construction in 2016. There are no condominiums in Beverly Heights Edmonton. Most houses in Beverly Heights were built in the decade leading up to amalgamation.
