About Dechene Edmonton

Dechene Edmonton is a triangular-shaped neighborhood in West Edmonton and forms part of the Lessard Area and real estate zone 20 with a green space in the heart of the community, bounded by Callingwood and Lessard Road, 184 Street between Jamieson Place and Gariepy, bisected by 57 Avenue. Residential real estate development for Dechene is still relatively new with the majority of houses are move-up homes constructed in the 1980s to the turn of the century. There are also several duplexes in this portion of the Lessard Area. Dechene is only a few minutes to West Edmonton Mall and the Jamie Platz Recreation Centre. Dechene Edmonton was named after Joseph Miville Dechene, an entrepreneurial man who established a tobacco store and later in his life, he became involved in Alberta politics.
