Decoteau is a future southeast Edmonton community, located in the Ellerslie Area, real estate zone 53, south of the Meadows and only 10 minutes from Beaumont or Sherwood Park Alberta. It was named on October 28, 2014, for Alex Decoteau, a Cree track and field athlete who competed for Canada in the 1912 Summer Olympics and was also the country's first aboriginal police officer. These new Decoteau Edmonton homes were planned to begin constructed after 2018. But with our economic downturn and a surplus of new homes for sale nearby in the Heritage Valley, construction may be delayed.
