About Idylwylde Edmonton

Located in the Ottewell Area, Idylwylde is nestled south of Holyrood and King Edward Park in the Mill Creek Area, bordered by 75 Street, 83 Street, 90 Avenue and 82 Avenue in the eastern portion of South Edmonton. Idylwylde is a quiet community with less redevelopment than it's neighbors. most of the houses in Idylwylde were constructed in the 1950s and feature mature beautifully landscaped backyards. Idylwylde Edmonton features two parks, two schools, and several religious assemblies. It is also in close proximity to the Mill Creek Ravine, Bonnie Doon Shopping Centre, Whyte Avenue retail stores and the Sherwood Park Freeway. The name Idylwylde was likely derived from dyll, which refers to a short poem describing a simple country life.
