Kirkness is located in real estate zone 25 in the Clareview area, nestled between the newer communities of Ebbers and Fraser Vista, bounded by 153 Avenue and Victoria Trail. Houses in Kirkness Edmonton have been actively under development since the 1970s, and residential construction has continued into the 2000s. Detached houses represent approximately half of the residential units within the community. Located in the northern part of Kirkness is a local park named after James A.
