La Perle is a modest community located to the northwest of West Edmonton Mall, and across from Terra Losa. La Perle homes for sale and other property dwellings are on smaller lots which were designed to help preserve agricultural land and conserve energy. Half of La Perle homes are single-family houses developed primarily in the 1980s and 1990s. Living in this part of Lessard allows residents to enjoy the two-hectare park site with the La Perle Shopping Centre located at the heart of the community. This west Edmonton community is named after Eleodore Joseph Leo LaPerle, who was born in Ontario, then opened a general store at the Winterburn Corner which operated until 1969 when it was torn down.
