Lauderdale is a mature community in north Edmonton with a mix of the residential real estate including detached houses, duplexes and row houses south of the high demand area of Griesbach. Lauderdale is located in the Kensington Area between Calder and Rosslyn, north of the Yellowhead Trail bounded by 137 Avenue in real estate zone 01. Although Lauderdale and surrounding areas have been within Edmonton’s city limits since 1913, it did not experience widespread real estate development until the late 1950s and early 1960s. The dominant structure type in Lauderdale is the detached house and is another community where homeowners tend to stay in their properties for longer periods of time. Lauderdale Edmonton is best known for the Grand Trunk Fitness and Leisure Centre and it's Off-Leash Dog Site.
