Malmo Plains is located in the south-west part of the municipality, south of Lendrum Place, west of Empire Park, bounded by 111 Street, 122 Street in the Southgate Area near Rainbow Valley and Snow Valley, north of the Kaskitayo area. Several of the original houses in Malmo Plains built in the 1970s are bungalow-style homes built for the elite during this era with vaulted beam ceilings which were popular at the time for creating entertainment ambiance. Located at the end of Malmo Plains Edmonton is Michener Park, which is the University of Alberta’s married student multi-family complex. Malmo Plains, south Edmonton is named after a soil known as Malmo. Malmo Plains Edmonton is a residential community in South Edmonton near the University, Kaskitayo District, and Southgate Shopping Center. The University of Alberta's married student multi-family complex, Michener Park, is located at the western end of Malmo Plains. There are no commercial sites, but the area provides easy access to a variety of amenities in surrounding areas, such as Southgate Centre. The soils in the area were of a type known as Malmo, described as a type of loam, which inspired the name of the neighbourhood. Fred Bently, the dean of agriculture at the University of Alberta. Real estate in Malmo Plains are mainly houses built in the mid 60's and feature double detached garages. Considering the location of Malmo Plains, the average price of a house is very reasonable.
