Living in a Northeast Edmonton Home

Northeast Edmonton is best known for the Highlands area. This part of our city has some historical properties with amazing views overlooking the river valley near the Highlands Golf Club. A children's garden and memorial stone have been dedicated to Trooper Michael Yuki Hayakaza, a Highlands community member who was killed during a military tour of duty in Afghanistan.


Properties for sale in northeast Edmonton are the best places to purchase homes for our Canadian Armed Forces members. Every northeast Edmonton district is located within a short commute to CFB Garrison. The most popular places for our DND members on their house-hunting trips are in the Lake District and Pilot Sound where residential real estate is newer and great for resale when posted out again.


Clareview Properties are a mix of less expensive condominiums and other real estates to a few million-dollar luxury homes. These dwellings area situated near ample amenities including Costco, Superstore, Cinema City Movies 12, Clareview Recreation Centre and the LRT for a quick commute to the University of Alberta and the downtown core. Homes in Steel Heights and Hermitage Listings were built prior to 2000, north of the Yellowhead. These properties offer buyers more affordable housing near the river valley and the popular Hermitage Park. Homes in were constructed over the same era.


Homes in the Beverly Heights area are situated on what was once coal mining factories. The Clareview area is bisected by 50 Street, of which forms part of Highway 15, as well as Victoria Trail, 137 Avenue and 153 Avenue. This part of Northeast Edmonton is best known for the LRT and quick access to Manning Drive. Although many feel real estate is cheaper here, there are a few pockets of multi-million dollar houses.


Over the last decade, there has been substantial real estate growth in both new builds and commercial outlets in northeast Edmonton. With the expansion of the Anthony Henday and easier access to Kennedale Ravine which offers great walking trails, river views and several pedestrian bridges, it has become a more popular place to live.
