About Oxford Edmonton

The Oxford neighborhood is located between Carlton and Dunluce in the Castle Downs Area in north Edmonton within the Palisades Area, between 167 Avenue and north of 153 Avenue. Oxford is best known for The Oxford Bay Condominium Complex which is a well-run condo building located around the Oxford community lake. One of the key features of the Oxford area is a drained wetland that is seasonally wet. The Province of Alberta claimed ownership for this wetland under the Public Lands Act, and any future development within the area will need to conform to applicable Provincial regulations on wetland disturbance and wildlife protection. Houses in Oxford Edmonton are relatively new homes built in the 2000s with a mix of duplexes and detached properties, most of which feature attached garages. Oxford takes its name from Oxford House, a Hudson's Bay Company post in what is now southwest Manitoba. Oxford Edmonton is located in the northwest within the Palisades District, near Castle Downs and borders on 167 Avenue to the north, 133 Street, 153 Avenue and 127 Street near the North Edmonton Real Estate office. Oxford is named from the "Oxford House", which was a Hudson's Bay Company post. Real Estate development in Oxford began in the late 1980s to 2000.The dominant residential form are detached houses to larger up-scale properties. These newer homes surround a beautiful lake with community walking trail located only a few minutes for CFB Garrison which makes it a favorite place for military members to live.
