Sturgeon County is located north of Edmonton originally incorporated in 1955, named for the Sturgeon River. It begins at the north end of Edmonton, with 97th street turning into Highway 28. It extends east to Fort Saskatchewan and west to Calahoo. Historically, this region was a part of a large ethnic block settlement of French-speaking Albertans and is best known for its four Catholic parishes. Sturgeon County encompasses the city of St. Albert and the towns of Bon Accord, Gibbons, Legal, Morinville and Redwater. Sturgeon County acreages for sale are a hot spring item for both civilians and our military members with close proximity to CFB Garrison.
